Bust-A-Move 2 Arcade Edition by Taito is the first sequel to Puzzle Bobble. The game builds on the original by adding a tournament-style variation for two-player matches against the computer, and a branching map in single-player mode that lets players choose between different level paths, leading to multiple endings. Several tournament characters are inspired by Bubble Bobble, including variations of Monsta and Mighta.
